✅ You might be interested in this text conversation initiated by Ms. Leigh Brady on the evening of Wednesday, June 14, 2023. This is the complete conversation.
✅ Ms. Brady did not respond to the last observation.
✅ The last 2 years have been a broad-gauged disgrace for SECU, in terms of unprecedented - and unnecessary - harm to the membership and staff. It is difficult to unbreak an egg once dropped.
✅ Hopefully, the members and staff won't get fooled again.... nor be cynically played for fools any longer!
✅ If you don't mind getting dizzy here's the video on the song "Won't Get Fooled Again"! [link: Who's Next - "Won't Get Fooled Again"]
... be sure not to miss the potential warning message in the song at 3:13 !
Glad to see she is trying lol
ReplyDeleteThe BOD and executive "team" knows that the membership and employees do not trust them at all. The staff are suspicious esp since YOU informed us last year at the meeting with the execs (as if it's something special )either get on board or leave!
ReplyDeletewonder when this board will announce who is on the nominating committee for 2023 board seats. according to election timeline chair selected June 12. Love to know which of Thsi Board is on it
ReplyDeleteI hope Leigh fully understands the guidance and support and advice she was given in that text exchange. Hope she got the message about how most of us think of her as our new leader
ReplyDeleteDon't think she is smart enough to understand...
DeleteBrady is smart but wants the power and glory too much to do the right thing
ReplyDeleteThis is spot on. Leigh likes being in the spotlight and will do what it takes to stay there.
DeleteLike list 10 things it’s important to do to let us all know what course she’ll take
ReplyDeleteBeen here 35 years and doesn't know what to do?
ReplyDeleteHer goal: to garner your support.
ReplyDeleteThat sums up the new/new. It's about me/me.
What about thinking about what you can do for 2.7 million members?
Makes me wonder if she sees how Mr. Blaine cuts through the bull s&$t and she's scared. Scared of how knowledgeable he is. Scared of how he's helping employees and the membership take THEIR credit union back. Scared of her future with the credit union. She SHOULD be scared. There's power in numbers and there's a whole lot more people interested in SAVING the credit union than destroying it!
DeleteScared is not strong enough for what I would feel if I were This Board, Hayes, Brady or Exec Team and responsible for what they have done to this NC credit union. More like terrified as every day more info comes out on them.
DeleteLooks like this exchange happened the day after you began your series on the candidate search. Part 1 was on June 13. Also the day Haze resigned.
ReplyDeleteSo, she got the job immediately and started the PR.
Playing the game of politics. Chris Ayers has taught you well.
DeleteYou can bet her PR work was going on before Hayes entered the picture. Gonna be hard to face all those she threw under the bus, but hopefully she has more sense than to mess with them...too many people watching over them, taking notes.
DeleteCOO last 2 years here. Forgive and forget. NEVER.
ReplyDeleteProbably play the "Just following orders" excuse.
DeleteShe was COO for the almost 2 years. We are not stupid much to her surprise. She has lost the trust of the biggest majority of employees and membership that serve as the backbone of SECU. What she and the current BOD has done to OUR credit union is despicable.
ReplyDeleteIn total agreement with you @ 2:29pm
Deleteshe thought she needed you to get the job, once she was appointed she didn't need you anymore. As the saying goes "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts"
ReplyDeleteAs COO also in charge of HR and responsible for those 1000+ extra jobs somewhere in Raleigh. Approved them all including our wacko org chart with vps with no employees, doing nothing, living in another state. We need more of this?
ReplyDeleteNo clue on branches, hiring "pause". Mother Teresa, no way.
ReplyDeleteDid secu board meet last night?
ReplyDeleteworking at bank and say First Citizens has excellent IT staff. Rest are over at your shop. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't get any developers from FC. Just non-technicals who push paper and spend money. And make all the decisions. 😂
DeleteAh. So the developer brought in by Lee Chalk is another techie. Lol. How nice it must to be to have tech title with no tech qualifications and get that paycheck.
DeleteAs long as you are under the protection of Brady bunch umbrella you can be anything you want and do anything you want.
DeleteNo wonder all these new projects are teeming/swarming with people. You contract out the development but still the teams are loaded with tons of people.
DeleteAnd evidently embarrassed us al over at seanc with the mommy loan fiasco.
ReplyDeleteSo who IS in charge? Is Hayes here until August 1? Is Leigh running things now, although seems like she’s been running things ever since Hayes arrived? guess this Board is refining election procedures— make it up as we go along?
ReplyDeleteAt least Hayes knew one concrete thing he wanted to do as soon as he arrived. Overcharge the poor with RBL!
ReplyDeletesell-by-date long past.
ReplyDeleteEven haze called her out for over hiring in front of SVp's last year.
ReplyDeleteHas Brady been out there talking to folks to get a thoughtful understanding from the teams across the state on what needs to be done next? Get rid of RBL, raise interest rates, lower loan rates, put decisions and employees back in the branches, have them all report to branch manager, close business lending, straighten out the call center mess. Let’s see I’m just a member and I got 7 without thinking much at all. Off top of my head. Oh unwind security’s investments, bring back tax prep. This isn’t that hard to figure out. Get rid of banker mentality. THE CREDIT UNION IS NOT A BANK it’s a member owned cooperative . You Don’t make ‘profits’ it’s a not for profit. Ok. It’s been awfully quiet ever since the hasty announcement about her job. Anyone notice this Board didn’t say “unanimous decision” ? Wonder if we got another 6-5 split?
ReplyDeleteBrady likes us in the branches as much as we like her.
ReplyDeleteThis. Right. Here. Feeling is definitely mutual. We (employees) are beneath her - she's always made that clear. Branches have always seen her as snooty and selfish. She doesn't care about the "little guys" - employees or the membership. If she did, she, with her "great knowledge of the credit union", would be busting a$$ to begin the process of rebuilding our great credit union!
DeleteAgreed
DeleteIs it difficult to think of 10 things that need to happen ASAP at NCSECU to regain the trust and confidence of the members? I bet Mr Blaine would put them on the blog.. ms Brady could not name 10 things she needs to do after a week of being thoughtful? Has she been looking at the financials? Bet she and Hayes will blame anything and everything on “outside” forces! Like the fed, higher interest rates blah blah blah. SECU grew through much tougher times than these. Can the members and employees reading the blog answer Mr. Blaine’s question? What are the top 10 things you’d plan to do?
ReplyDeleteWebex today at the cu confirmed it today for all SECU managers. New boss same as old boss.
ReplyDeleteBrady-Hayes. did he really say joined at the hip? more like they share a brain...
Deleteobviously a very small brain at that!
DeleteBet money Leigh created that blog😂 she doesn’t realize that just validated this blog 10x over. Just resign BOD and Brady. This isn’t your credit union.
ReplyDeleteJust as Hayes is not was not the problem, look at last post. Brady is not the problem either. She’s just taking over where Jim Hayes left off. She is implementing this boards plans for SECU. SHE WILL DEFEND EVERYTHING SHE IS DOING, BUT IT IS NOT HER PLAN .
ReplyDeleteMight believe some of that if it can be proven she was not working with the Board in 2021 behind Mr. Lord's back to put this new direction in this Board's head. She was after the CEO position in 2021, didn't get it but still sold out the credit union and all her coworkers and fell right in line with the Hayes Destroy SECU Convoy. She didn't make a difference then, not so sure she wants to or will make a difference now.
DeleteRBL has to go . The new/new election procedures have to go. First 2 things on my list for Mr Blaine
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of "have to go's START WITH THE BOARD! Awful, just awful, hope they enjoyed their trips and private plane rides on our dime!
ReplyDeleteAnybody else see the new marketing memo they sneaked in there? Microsite dedicated for propaganda on how digitalizing every experience will enhance your employee experience…bs…they are trying to take labor power out of YOUR hands. That’s why they won’t decentralize and that’s why they are not giving up! They know if the mass employees realize the “technology” they are wanting to usher in is vastly going to to reduce your skill set and your need for employment. It’s about cutting employment size and enriching themselves. They will do whatever it takes. It’s so easy to see how desperate they are.
ReplyDeleteAnd what’s going to be the experience for us members? I hate the push button call center. More of that? All for industry standard and efficiency? Efficient for whom? I’ll go to the bank if this keeps up. Why be a “member” at a credit union that’s a wanna be bank?
Deleteyou could go to LGCU ... oh wait in a little while they won't even have branches... this is a mess ... for all involved
DeleteIf this Board just promoted to CEO the next in line in 2023, I would like an explanation from them as to why the next line was not promoted to CEO in 2021. Because had that happened, SECU would not be in the hole these millions of dollars Ring Leader Ayers and his Clowns cost the credit union and us over the past two years. And our credit union branches wouldn't be torn to pieces from the coast to the mountains. I am already making plans to attend this year's annual meeting, just to ask this one question.: Just can't seem to shake the news of this Board paying 6.5 MILLION dollars of our money to Andrews Federal Credit Union for the opportunity to bring Jim Hayes into SECU. This was the most idiotic business decision ever made by a Board of Directors, but you clowns just keep making them. He wrecks the place for 2 years and you think the one who helped with the wrecking ball can clean it up? What planet do you live on SECU directors?
ReplyDeleteI am interested in confirming the validity of a few statements made regarding newly appointed CEO. I was told This Board was given Hayes' resignation on Saturday, 6/10/23 and immediately called a meeting that same evening with Leigh Brady where she expressed to the Board (her words) "no one would want this CEO position." On Tuesday, 6/13/23 This Board announced the resignation of Jim Hayes as CEO and announced Leigh Brady had been named CEO of State Employees' Credit Union. No prior notification of CEO's resignation to the membership,. No posting of the CEO position. No opportunity for other applicants to apply. No discussion with any other interested parties involved within SECU. For this Board to have promoted their thoughtful, painstaking process of selecting Jim Hayes for the past two years. And most importantly considering the controversy within the SECU community regarding the hiring of Hayes in 2021, I find this hasty announcement by This Board very suspicious. Were all the Board of Directors in attendance at this called meeting with Ms. Brady on Saturday and are those minutes of this Special Called Meeting on record?
DeleteMy fellow Members, something does not compute with This Board's hiring processes and/or decisions for our credit union.
Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. Brady asked and she received, and her joy is complete. Amen.
Deleteno one would want this CEO position. Because I want it for myself. And the smug arrogant infinitely wise board believed her and handed it over to her on a platter with that single sentence. How nice it must to live in Brady bunches world. Life is so simple.
DeleteHow much more idiotic than this board get? Hayes fiasco hasn't even come to a complete stop and already this. CEO appointment over a simple sentence? Is that all it takes to be the CEO of a once 53 now 50 billion dollar organization? Speechless.
sounds like they are compromised in some way. $$ can blind a person ... keep the goody bags coming
DeletePayoffs/Paybacks should not be allowed in any form - you people are handling my mine and everyone else's money at our credit union. Accountability to the membership of this credit union is coming.
DeleteWOW! That scenario sounds nuts! I think a lot of people would want the job but no one would align with their agenda like the new team same as the old team beet Brady Hayes. And why on earth would they post because this board can do whatever it wants led by Ayers, Sanford, and Garland.
DeleteWhy do they have a hiring freeze on poorly underpaid workers for roughly an entire year, but they have no problem bringing in all these new EVPs and SVPs that are either rejects from other companies or have no experience in banking and give them benefit plans/salaries so high that they can't afford normal staff. I'm all for change and technology, but this isn't the way. Leigh's gotta go and we need to go back to our core values of caring about the average member. The one that needs things like tax prep services because it's too expensive for him elsewhere. So disappointed as of late.
ReplyDeleteNone of those guys interact with the member. The directors and administrators have abandoned the needs of the members. They just want the members money. As much of it as possible.
DeleteLook back at how many promotions/raises these Outsiders have gotten over the past 18 months for doing Nothing. But I heard the CEO had no problem telling our Leaders this morning the salary study showed most employees are overpaid for their positions. And Admin's goal to retitle/diminish our positions will only widen the spread on those numbers. Dirtiest administration in SECU History and we have had to deal with them for 2 years. Only a new Board will change things.
DeleteYeah don’t let them fool you. This new salary study is bogus. They are paying all the new executives big money and bonuses. Meanwhile branch’s have suffered for two years and members have suffered for this lack of support and staffing. Here is a study showing how underpaid SECU is compared to other credit unions. https://www.cutimes.com/2021/09/13/rbfcu-raises-minimum-pay-to-18-reflecting-upward-trend-across-industry/?slreturn=20230521193809
DeleteImagine how many member facing employees we could pay market rate if we eliminated all of the new outside hire SVPs and EVPs and their $200-400K salaries plus benefits.
Deletemama Mia is an AEVP and has one employee and likely gets paid 3x the average branch employee
Deletebu she leigh and none of those guys interact with our riffraff membership!
DeleteThey are the nobility while we are the peasants. We work while they sit and take credit for what we are doing.
DeleteThe Culture Club was visibly angry today in the meeting. Mia continues to talk in circles and lie to all management about the survey. Sounds like the big compensation survey is going to make things worse for branch staff and managers. Yet all the new hires are living large.
ReplyDeleteshe's a bully and uses it to her advantage. I remember taking courses every year about employee bullying not being condoned at SECU. My my how the new/new has changed the "culture"
Deletemembership is hurting along with the branch staff
DeleteDid you like how she explain anonymous and confidential are two different things? Bet the next response to surveys are 0%. Employees you were set up yet again!
