SECU - William C. Friday Said It Best: "Character Is All".... #5

https://i0.wp.com/uncpressblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/link_william.jpg?fit=196%2C300&ssl=1   William C. Friday, one of North Carolina's most distinguished leaders.

"Leadership and your success as a leader depend upon your own sense of moral standards and personal accountability in the use of your considerable skills and native intelligence. In public life, character and integrity - once lost - cannot be restored. So guard jealously against the temptations of expediency, celebrity status and short-term gain. Please understand that leadership is difficult, that it is demanding, and that it is sometimes abused."

"It is quite clear that the greatest need in our state and country is for a generation of leaders with moral principles and ethical standards that are a part of all that they do. We need a generation of leaders with an unshakable commitment to courage and fairness manifested with grace and courtesy and decency. We need a generation that understands the devastation of poverty, poor health and homelessness."

Subject: RE: Requested Retraction CEO Comments

Good afternoon, Ms. Blaine.  Please see the response below from Mona Moon:

 Dear Ms. Blaine:

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns.  SECU values all member feedback.  At the time Ms. Brady made the referenced comments, she was operating under a good faith belief [**] that there was an orchestration of prepared remarks.  I apologize if you or any other member was offended.

 Thank you,

 Catie Wall, Board Governance Counsel

Representative] "George Santos defense" - "I have never lied to you in bad faith."

The actual quote:

“ “…Let me be clear on that group of members; 28 of those 32 were SECU retirees,” said Brady. “These were members where Blaine gave them a sheet of paper and said ‘You read this.’ And gave the next one a sheet of paper and said, ‘Now you read this.’ They were holding papers where Blaine gave them talking points. And they were supposed to stand up during the comment section and read their comments.”

Brady said she knows for a fact that is what occurred.”

So..."Hey diddle, diddle; the Cat and the Fiddle; the CEO has jumped over the Moon.... "

                 "I have a list..."

✅ Leigh Brady  [CUToday - 10/202023]

“… Let me be clear on that group of members; 28 of those 32 were SECU retirees,” said Brady. “These were members where Blaine gave them a sheet of paper and said ‘You read this. And gave the next one a sheet of paper and said, ‘Now you read this.’ They were holding papers where Blaine gave them talking points. And they were supposed to stand up during the comment section and read their comments.”

Brady said she knows for a fact that is what occurred."

 ✅ "THE LIST":

.... not sure why the 9 (not 28!) "SECU retirees" don't count.

Does all this apply to the three newly elected SECU Board members who also spoke?
