A CU Cat Fight?
😎 Based on some of the comments [Anonymous May 9, 2025 at 9:31 PM], the claws have come out as LGFCU/CIVIC heads toward "independence" on June 3rd! Unfortunately there will probably be much more to come.
Lets hope that the separation process works smoothly as over 400,000 LGFCU members are involved.
The "rivalry" may prove positive for SECU members - all of whom can join CIVIC. CIVIC has already posted "across the board", higher savings rates [see post] and now "the other shoe has dropped" on the loan side with CIVIC posting lower credit card rates.
SECU leadership may finally understand the need to reduce operating expenses and loan losses to remain competitive. Perhaps even understand why SECU needs to refocus on being the best at what it does, before it tries to do more.
Mediocrity, "industry average" is not a formula for success - whether "new/new" nor "old/old"!
