Has The SECU "We Board" Seen The Light? Or Are "We" Up To Some More "Not So Good"?

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/60/87/4b/60874b0c8ee44518fc54412664d8d684.jpg  ... as an eligible, qualified member find out.

Invite Yourself!

Last year (2023), the SECU Nominating Committee violated the SECU Bylaws by refusing to permit an eligible, qualified member from seeking member-nomination as a candidate for the SECU Board of Directors.

You have followed the difficult struggle - over the last nine months - to have the Administrator of Credit Unions or the North Carolina Credit Union Commission act to correct this violation of the SECU Bylaws  and North Carolina law - that stonewalling continues!

✅ But now in the middle of the night - at 10:45pm, ("what's the rush"!) - comes the invitation below from the "We Board". Are "We" up to some not so good again, or are "We" finally correcting our illegal policy?

✅ Don't leave it to chance, contact your branch [list], call or contact: one of your advisory board members [https://www.ncsecu.org/AboutSECU/Volunteers.html], the "We" [secuboard@ncsecu.org], or the Chair, Ms. Mona Moon [mmm312506@gmail.com] and request access to the WebEx meeting on March 19 or March 25 as an eligible, qualified - one member, one vote - SECU member-owner.

The "We" said they wanted your input! As an equal SECU member, you deserve to have your say...and your seat at the table!

😎 Sorry for the poor copy (it was the best of the many received!), you may have to print or enlarge for better clarity :

...  let me know if the "We" declares you "ineligible" to participate - again!

  1. Employees need to be on the call too. Don't let them rig this.

  2. Oh lord. Dear god. What are they up to now? More illegal election changes? Will E/Y be there to hand hold the board to make sure they cheat correctly this time?

    1. Come on. E/Y, a $49 billion company, has bigger fish to fry and wouldn’t risk the reputational risk and put it all on the line for SECU. Take off the tin foil hat.

    1. Poor Leigh and the Legacy 8 want to keep all of us "little people" (branch employees & the membership) in the dark. They know we're pi$$ed and are working to take back OUR SECU!

  5. I think an employee needs to run for the board

  6. Would you prefer that they not have a WebEx to introduce changes?

    1. No, the proposed changes should be posted now on the website for all members to see and review. Why wouldn't you want all members to know what's going on?

Why not also allow all members who have an interest to join the WebEx?

SECU preaches transparency, why not practice it?

    2. Yes. As a member I would prefer that. The proposed changes to election procedures should be posted on the website for ALL members to see. No Webex with surprise changes that no one has seen or had time to think about. Why not let the members respond???

    3. What about those members that don’t visit the website or branch? What about those members that only call into the contact center? Should the contact center employees read the changes to each caller?

    5. At 10:31, how do you think this was communicated, courier pigeon? The comment was directed at Jim Blaine’s comment to post it to the website.

    6. SECU doesn’t have my email! I am curious how many members they don’t have a email address for?

    9. Like that Special Edition of Grassroots newsletter last September promoting just 3 incumbents... what a hamhanded joke.

  7. Called this months ago-there will not be 4 new members in 24, they will not allow it…changes have most likely already been made or are in the works!

  8. As an employee and member, Leigh I have the right to know. Cut the crap. You seem to speak with a forked tongue. Which one of your half's is lying?

  9. Lies, half truths and deception are now our core values. I am floored at the dishonesty and lack of integrity that has come from SECU’s leadership team. What I am noticing is this is trickling down into the organization as a whole. This is very disturbing and disheartening that we have become this. As time moves forward, membership will feel the ramifications of this. And for the first time in nearly two decades of working here, I would not recommend SECU…
