Blog Commenter Says: SECU Members Should Look Here If In Doubt About Impact Of H410...

https://www.travisheightselementary.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Comments.jpg ... look West, look forward, look out!

✅ Here's What the commenter said: "Take a look at OneAz Credit Union if you want a preview of SECU's future direction. They used to be "Arizona State Employees' Credit Union" until the wolves got control of the hen house, then they 'rebranded' in 2016. "Now their original mission of serving the employees of the state is entirely forgotten; they're open to anyone living in the state of AZ."

"Their Board of Directors are "volunteers", but they're now each paid a 'stipend' of $28,000 per year, plus who knows what other perks and goodies like meals and luxury vacations framed as 'business retreats'. "

✅ Here's the info on Board of Directors Compensation

"At OneAZ Credit Union, we believe in transparency and accountability to our members. Our Board of Directors plays a critical role in guiding the strategic direction of our credit union, ensuring that decisions are made with the best interests of our members in mind. In line with our commitment to transparency, we're proud to share information about our board structure and stipend."

Board Members
"Our board consists of dedicated individuals who bring diverse expertise and perspectives to the table. They are committed to upholding the values of our credit union and serving the needs of our members. Here are the details of the stipend they receive for their service:

• Board Chair: $35,000
• Board Members: $28,000 each
• Advisory Director: $14,000"

✅ Here are the "limitations" on Membership:

Eligibility

In order for an applicant to be eligible to join the Credit Union, the applicant must:

  • Live or work in Arizona; Attend school in Arizona; Volunteer in Arizona; Worship in Arizona.
  • Agree to establish membership by opening a $5 Share Savings account with the Credit Union
  • Not have caused the Credit Union a loss
  • Any person sponsored or referred by an existing OneAZ Credit Union member is eligible.
  • People and organizations sponsored by existing members are eligible

... those "limitations" kinda cover everyone from "A-Z", don't they?

  2. I feel like this is all a big nightmare and I just want to wake up. As an employee, I am exhausted. Branches are short staffed. Margo systems and other system issues are out of control with glitches and outages. Statements being outsourced to a 3rd party has been a mess in our area - some people aren't getting them at all and don't understand why. ATM's going down more than ever and pissing the membership off. Lending rates are ridiculous and it's damn near impossible for people to get the "good " rates. I could go on but I'll spare you all the mini novel I could write. But let's open up membership so we can make things even "better"! Just when I think we've hit an all time low, the punches keep coming.

  3. If you know someone who knew someone who knew someone that was a member ... come on in we have a loan for you (as long as your credit score is good enough for us!!!)

  4. Read it closely and its not limited to Arizona at all. Anyone in the world can join. That's what our prior CEO said he wanted us to be. Poor Leigh egged him on.

    1. And the board was in 100%. It is still 8 to 3. 4 more in 24. Vote Brinson, Fleming, Williams and Wooten off the board in October. Those four are not interested in a consumer focused, member run cooperative, but do want to got head to head with North Carolina banks. All the policies pursued over the past 3 years are confirmation of this fact. Why do they have a commercial lending department when they currently are not allowed by state law to have commercial lending? why have they invested in out of state commercial real estate? What are they thinking? Be a bank is what they are thinking but with a big tax advantage!

  5. Have they asked the owners of the credit union what they think? yes they did (not directly) and 3 board members got kicked off the board. We need to kick off 4 more in 24, replace the CEO, rid ourselves of overpriced C-suites and not vote for anyone who approves of this or 'acts' like they can't enforce the rules. Tall order but truth is on our side!
