At SECU, an audience will always exist who will expect and demand that you tell the truth!
"Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth." - Mahatma Gandhi
As one member-nominated candidate so aptly said: "You can't shut us up, and you won't shut us out."
These days are troubled times! If you say it enough and you get others to back you, then that the truth! That’s even when it’s not the truth! Prayers for a change of 4 on the Board today!
ReplyDeletePraying for OUR 4 more in '24 today!
ReplyDeleteThe fact that members have literally been banned from speaking at their own meeting is a disgrace. Let’s get SECU back on track. Morale is at an all time low, turnover at an all time high. Ever since the introduction of RBL loan losses are piling up in the hundreds of millions. Please, we need this victory today!
ReplyDeleteI’m ready for kick the last of them to the curb 25!!!!
ReplyDeleteHeads up they decided to block the 2024 live stream for employees. Even though they have been ok with us streaming it at work in the past this year they have a problem with it 😢
ReplyDeleteNo they didn’t. They said a recording of the meeting would be available for viewing after the meeting for those employees that could not take a break during the meeting to watch. We’re all still here to assist the members, even during the meeting.
DeleteVideo is restricted on computer first year they have barred employees from listening in. In past management has been fine with it as long as it didn’t effect helping members.
Delete!!!
DeleteWell @11.58, it was certainly blocked on my work PC.
DeleteWhy were you streaming anything during work at your work computer
Delete@9:56, True that!
DeleteYou have a major NC financial institution with the board shutting up its members and the "media" doesn't seem to care ........
ReplyDeletebecause they are all for silencing the majority
DeleteNobody was shut up. You lost. Get over it.
Delete"Nobody was shut up. You lost. Get over it."
DeleteWrong, I didn't lose the member/owners who aren't one of your selected few lost ... the employees who are treated like crap lost Big Time!
But you never live life without problems and you will have yours too ... remember your words,
just get over it!
Literally on the edge of my seat for these results today…
ReplyDeleteWatching now wish they would announce the results already praying for 4 more in 24
ReplyDeleteYea it’s in negative territory so you decided to outsource as much of our stuff as you can out of state
ReplyDeleteDo we need live fact checking? Listening to LB stats.
ReplyDeletewill the results be shared live during the meeting?
ReplyDeleteWe are screwed. No more SECU as it should be!
ReplyDeleteThe mail in campaign and online advertising worked. Bad guys won.
ReplyDeleteKeep fighting!
ReplyDeletewow lost by almost double the votes
ReplyDeleteThe people spoke.
DeleteHighest voter turnout in any annual board election, yes?
DeleteNo, that's purely a result of the social media campaign ads they paid tons of $$ for. You know that.
Delete@6:57 I didn’t ask for a rundown of how it was achieved. It was the highest voter turnout period. More members voted in this election than EVER before.
DeleteGuess that’s it no change this year. Board will prolly play dirty next year too. Here is to another year of this mess. 😢
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteWell, there goes all hope ðŸ˜
ReplyDeleteThe credit union will no longer be different just anouther sheep
ReplyDeleteThe membership has spoken!!! Democracy at its finest!!
ReplyDeleteDemocracy prevails!
ReplyDeleteYep. I guess using member money to promote the incumbents, and creating an online voting page that made it appear the incumbents were the only options worked out for them.
DeleteYou had to spend so much money and basically stack the deck to beat a grass roots movement. If everyone was told the truth about how they plan to outsource our jobs, expand secu regionally, turn the call centers into meat grinders, continue with rbl, spend money on yacht parties, no longer hire internal, automate and reduce the amount of tellers hired etc. I don’t think the membership would vote for any of that. Basically, they spent tons of money and won. That’s how politics works. Whoever spends the most and has the most money typically wins…
DeleteDo you intend to continue fighting after this setback?
ReplyDeleteLet's move FORWARD! SO grateful for the freedom to vote and choose our leadership!
ReplyDeleteYou spent tons of money and stacked the deck. Congratulations?
DeleteAre we trusting the results? I feel like everything was structured to make it easier win for the incumbents
ReplyDeleteCertaintly seems that way. But at this point it is what it is. We just have to hope there's improvement over the next year, and then try again.
DeleteOr maybe people just like the incumbents more
DeleteDo better than this
DeleteThe members spoke!
ReplyDeleteIf the future is anything like the past 3 years, let's not.
ReplyDelete5:26 - I feel like some trolls have been allowed to invade this post. Trolls live in the dirty, dark places under bridges and no one likes them. You obviously don't care about others so are incapable of understanding what we were fighting for. (Mr B if I have misunderstood this person's comment, please don't upload my reply.) Charity
ReplyDeleteSometimes it takes more of a bad thing before the more logically challenged among us realize that there needs to be a change. But manipulation, propaganda, and quieting the voices of opposition seem to be a common theme these days. So we'll see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteEmployee morale is trash, as low as I've ever seen it. After today my hope is trashed as well. Time to ride the wave for a bit and see how bad it goes. I don't wish for failure for the board. I'm just concerned that's where it's heading. Time will tell.
Licking your wounds much?
ReplyDeletegloating? another person who thinks silencing the members is ok ...
DeleteNobody was silenced. Everyone that wanted to vote, voted. Your candidates got their butts handed to them, plain and simple.
Delete@9:10, the members spoke, there was a clear winner. It's not like it was by a small margin.
Deletewas I allowed a follow-up question/concern to what was said? ... I'll wait ....
Deletewere we allowed a mic to speak of our concerns like last year?
Delete"Nobody was silenced. Everyone that wanted to vote, voted..."
DeleteVoting and speaking are two different activities...
I’m thankful for our board members who have been re-elected and how they’ll keep moving the credit union forward while honoring and learning from our past. As a 15+ year member and employee, I appreciate the passion from those who weren’t elected, and hope they keep sharing their feedback in a productive way.
ReplyDeleteDon’t believe everything you see here or on social media. SECU is a strong and unique FI that always keeps our members first. It’s a great place to be a part of for members and employees. Excellent job by our leader, Leigh Brady today in presenting where we are and where we’re going. The best is yet to come for SECU!
Agreed! Thankful for everyone’s passion for the members of SECU
Deleteso is it okay to allow the member/owners to not speak at 'their' credit union?
DeleteSame yes ! Much to be learned from past leadership, but more good things will come from the current leadership as well. SECU is still the best of the best .
DeleteThe people who follow this blog must be shocked at the results. This is what happens when you only allow comments that fit a certain narrative. It creates a false perception. No wonder people are confused!
ReplyDeletemake no mistake, we're not confused ... the confusion started 3 years ago when the board forgot about the credit unions' principles and started treating the member/owners as clients at a bank not the rightful owners of their credit union.
