What Next With H. 410 - Credit Union "Updates" - A N. C. Senate Sunrise!

Some folks got discouraged when H. 410 breezed so easily through the North Carolina House of Representatives, despite the substantial opposition and uproar that surfaced.

Hey, perk up, it looks like you may have won! That's a picture of a sunrise, not a sunset!

The underhandedness with which the bill was presented by the Carolinas' Credit Union League - cheered on by SECU - did not go unnoticed. Thank you!

The media, other N.C. credit unions, the bankers, credit union members statewide, and our Senators in the State Legislature are on to it. No one likes being played for a fool!

Dan Schline, the CCUL, SECU and their lobbyists have been shown - without question - to be untrustworthy and willing to purposefully mislead our elected representatives on H. 410.

Your North Carolina Senate - both Republicans and Democrats -  are indicating that "the H. 410 snake" needs to have its tail removed, just behind its head. If the N.C. Senate follows through over the next few weeks and shoves H. 410 into the trash; the State Legislature will have administered a well-deserved slap in the face to Dan Schline, CCUL, and SECU.

With the defeat of H. 410, we can get back to discussing the decline in purpose, principles, and performance at SECU.

It would be helpful if you would consider sending a brief email to your State Senator about H. 410, over the next week. You've spent a horrendous few weeks having to slog through the detailed analyses of what is actually in H. 410. And, had a closeup look at the crude, deceptive tactics being used to try and fleece and fool the Legislature - and all North Carolina citizens.

You should find plenty of "stuff" to tell your Senator about!

Will post tomorrow the information on how to look up your State Senator. Hey, perk up , the sun is rising in the N.C. Senate!

  2. Shame on SECU for forgetting their principles, anyone without their Team SECU shades on can see this is wrong

  3. Let's be honest, Dan Schline isn't the only 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍. Look folks, it's a sunrise, perhaps we need to put on our SECU "future is bright" sunglasses!

  6. Nothing is over until it's over. Folks, contact your state senator. Inform them that this bill is B.S for the MEMBER owners, the employees and for N.C.

  8. This bill is all about πŸ’ΈπŸ’ΈπŸ’ΈπŸ’Έ. Business/corporate accounts/lending are very lucrative. More lucrative than personal deposit accounts. The "low economic folks" is just a gimmick to get this bill through. I don't even think the majority of the folks in the house read this bill except for the Rep I believe from Charlotte. He pointed out about business accounts.

  9. A little good news is certainly welcome. However, now is not the time to celebrate. Once we have the attention of our senators and hopefully their “ear”, now is the time to double down and significantly increase our efforts. Do not let up!! Continue to make your voices heard!!

  11. Not meaning to change the subject but I’ve been waiting for Accounting to post the March financials to see the explosion of auto loan numbers since March 1 thanks to race based lending. They should have been out in mid April but here it is May 3 and they’re still not out!! Smells a little fishy to me… why are they being held up?? Hazy Gym wouldn’t hide the numbers intentionally would he??

    1. Call report is now out.

$38 million increase in new car loans quarter over quarter. Used and new car rates they report are each up .75% over 12-31-22.

Thing that’s odd is why new car rates are 1% higher than used rates.

Also assets dropped $200 million between December 31 and March 31

    2. Is that good?

  12. Sure would be a very good thing to get the senators so riled up that none of them would let schline, or any SECU lobbyist in their office bc Schline and CO. are so untrustworthy and LIE.

  14. I don't know. The Senate just voted infavor to give UNC Health immunity from federal antilaws which would aid in mergers and purchases. SEANC opposed this bill. This bill has nothing to do with H.410 but it just seems that whatever the Senate/house put forward to the floor just gets approved through both houses. I'm not getting my hopes up on the Senate. Still, contact your state senator.

    1. Difference between these bills is the banking industry opposes H410. The banks, for better or worse, have a lot of power in NC.

    2. For once, it’s nice to have the big banks on our side. Lol. Not many times you’ll get to say that especially as a member and employee of a credit union

  15. Transparency has been the new buzz word at SECU for the past year and a half - the only picture very clear to SECU Members and Employees alike is how badly our credit union is being managed by the Board, CEO and Exec Team. Email your Senators, help them defeat H.410 with your voices. Then, we can set about the house cleaning needed at SECU. We cannot afford to give up.
