    1. Kristina Ray NC credit union regulator kristina.ray@nccud.nc.gov
      Josh Stein, NC Attorney General,
      jstein@ncdoj.gov
John Bell, NC House majority whip and sponsor of H410
      John.Bell@ncleg.gov
These are all elected officials and should be interested and concerned that a not for profit, member owned cooperative is attempting to thwart, intimidate and block member participation by possibly illegal and unethical changes to voting procedures and by laws by this board.

  3. "Moody's cut credit ratings of several small to mid-sized U.S. banks on Monday and said it may downgrade some of the nation's biggest lenders, warning that the sector's credit strength will likely be tested by funding risks and weaker profitability."

    1. ""This comes as a mild U.S. recession is on the horizon for early 2024 and asset quality looks set to decline, with particular risks in some banks' commercial real estate (CRE)portfolios."
Moody's said elevated CRE exposures are a key risk due to high interest rates, declines in office demand as a result of remote work, and a reduction in the availability of CRE credit."

Hope SECU didn't invest in CRE ........

    2. "The delinquency rate of commercial real estate mortgages on office properties that had been securitized into Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) spiked to 5.0% by loan balance in July, up from a delinquency rate of 2.8% in April, having now spiked by 2.2 percentage points in three months, by far the biggest three-month spike in the data going back to 2000, and by 3.4 percentage points so far this year, by far the biggest seven-month spike, according to Trepp, which tracks and analyzes CMBS."

  4. WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE IF STEIN IS FOR REAL... THIS IS HIS BABY! OR BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!

Josh Stein: Always putting the people of North Carolina first

Attorney General Josh Stein learned early on that some things are worth fighting for, no matter the opposition. His parents grounded him in our shared values of freedom, justice, and opportunity for everyone, and his faith teaches him that we are all children of God and we are called to make a difference. That’s why, as North Carolina’s Attorney General and as a state Senator before, Josh has taken on powerful special interests to protect families.

  5. Stein has no cojones... contact Mark Robinson. He has already proved he'll stand up for the majority.

    2. contact them both--Robinson and Stein. This board's suppression of people of modest means in the state of NC( this board hopes to implement their policies outside NC in the near future!) is every politician's problem. Who is advocating for those folks in NC? It certainly is not NCSECU board and current administration--run by folks who think they are better and just want to chase other wealthy folks. This board and its new/new believe the rest of us need to be punished for our financial transgressions-- that is trying to live on state employees' and teachers' salaries.

  6. None of these politicians, attorney generals etc give a rats a** about SECU. Hate to break it to you. They know what’s going on with SECU and guess what? They are going to let it happen. There isn’t one single politician in the USA that is coming to help. They know the problem. But the problem for them is getting rid of a corporation that favors the working class. Politicians want that gone as much as Hayes and Brady. Only thing that would work is if the workers strike. But sadly, the secu workers do not have the balls for it. I understand the fear of losing your job, but sometimes you have to do what’s right. A strike would end this swiftly. But yea let’s keep praying to politicians and organizations that have no desire to help us…John bell is not coming. Mark Robinson is not coming. Kristina Ray is not coming either. This place will be radically different in a couple of years. It will not even be recognized. Thank you to NUCA and the federal reserve and the SECU board for screwing up a great place to work. Can’t wait to be micromanaged every day. Can’t wait for our members to get screwed every day with terrible interest rates. Can’t wait for the whole company to be digitalized with less than 2k employees. Can’t wait to see Hayes and board get away with criminal activity. Because guess what folks…that’s America. Corporations are typically nothing but a bunch of crooks at the top. We had a rare place. Again, thank you Leigh brady for screwing us over and selling us out! What a great CEO you are!

    1. Not this cynical yet! Still holding out some hope for the right thing and integrity to prevail. We should have our answer by Friday.

    2. Personally, I hate to sound that way. But our government has no interest in the working class. They shield the big corporations and protect them. We are ants to them.

    3. Not impressed with Mark Robinson. He’s focused so much on taking rights away from other communities that I doubt he’ll bat an eye at our SECU one.

    5. Workers don't have the balls?? Why don't you shove it up you a**. The legacy employees know what needs to be done, but this is real life. This isn't like some actor's strike in Hollywood. These folks depend on their job to survive. A strike would do nothing except cause a reason for dismissal which would only further deplete the number of folks that understand and believe in our purpose. That's just weakens the credit union further all for the sake of a little showy song and dance that would accomplish nothing.

  7. The only way I am aware of to make real changes at SECU is to start voting the current Board out. If you really want to put your energy into something spread the word to every member you can think of to vote for the self-nominees starting September 3rd.

There is no immediate fix to this from another politician - blue or red. It's up to members and employees to change the Board - 3 or 4 seats every year until a new majority has control.

  9. Don't ever forget what these board members have done to the State employees of North Carolina and their families while enriching themselves. And the CEO(s) for allowing the executive managers, THEY allowed to be hired, to treat the legacy employees like garbage.
They ALL need run out of town.

  10. I’ve noticed “SECU Lead” meetings are scheduled in September all before the annual meeting…wonder why…

  11. "“The share of U.S. adults who said they would cover a $400 emergency expense with cash or equivalents dropped by 2 percentage points from the previous quarter to 46%, highlighting how cash-strapped many Americans are despite the recent decrease in headline inflation,” according to the survey developed by Bloomberg and conducted by intelligence company Morning Consult."

Hope the BOD & CEO are considering how SECU can work to help their membership with this issue...
    What's the odds?

    1. If they do, it will be with an exorbitant interest rate. Well, because if you don't have $400, you must be irresponsible... Zero understanding of the finances of most of us. paycheck to paycheck and not stellar scores, but we pay on time.
