Well, About that Petition Effort - I Have Some Good News And Some Bad News...

✅ The GOOD NEWS is...  SECU members aren't amused by "This Board's" new election rule antics... https://secuvote.ey.com/

"6. Self- nominations. Self- nominations may be made only by those who sought, but did not receive, nomination by the Nominating Committee. For a self-nomination to be valid and be included on the ballot, the member must have submitted a completed Candidate Package for consideration by the Nominating Committee by the deadline in the current year Election Procedures Schedule. If a member is notified by the Nominating Committee that they were not selected as a candidate, and the member wishes to self-nominate, the member may then email the Assistant Corporate Secretary at board.corporate.secretary@ncsecu.org to request a copy of the Official Nominating Petition for State Employees’ Credit Union Board of Directors (the “Official Nominating Petition”). Within one (1) business day after receipt of such request, the Assistant Corporate Secretary shall email the member a copy of the Official Nominating Petition. Each member wishing to self-nominate must deliver (as described below) an Official Nominating Petition with valid signatures from at least 500 unique members aged 16 years or older with requested evidence confirming membership in SECU. The Official Nominating Petition must include the member name, telephone number, member address, signature and date of signature for each member supporting the candidate to count as a valid signature. Only signatures on the Official Nominating Petition will be accepted. No electronic, facsimile or other digital representation of signatures will be accepted. Joint petitions or petitions in support of more than one member will not be accepted. Solicitation of petitionsignatures on SECU property is prohibited. Valid signatures will be verified against the Credit Union’s membership list to ensure the Official Nominating Petition meets the minimum 500 member signature requirement. Delivery of the Official Nominating Petition shall be made (i) by emailing a statement of intent to self- nominate with the completed Official Nominating Petition attached as a .pdf file to the email address designated for Petition delivery on the Official Nominating Petition by the required date in the current year Election Procedures Schedule (the “Petition Deadline”), and (ii) sending via first class mail or national overnight delivery service or hand delivery the original completed Official Nominating Petition to the mailing address designated for Petition delivery on the Official Nominating Petition postmarked (mail) or sent (overnight delivery service or hand delivery) by the Petition Deadline. Failure to deliver the Official Nominating Petition in the manner and by all applicable deadlines set forth in this section will render such Official Nominating Petitions invalid. Such Official Nominating Petitions will not be accepted and such members will not appear on the ballot. "

  2. Funny the things going on. Just like someone being scared and hiring security for the managers meeting last week. Another waste of members money.

    1. Did "They" seriously hire security for their manager's meeting? There is no limit to what these folks will do to have their own way. I do hope Ms. Ray is attentive to the SECU's BODs dirty deeds against their members and employees and what this looks like to the whole credit union industry in our state. Please don't let this drift over into other NC credit unions.

  3. Hard to believe the lengths This Board has went to in their attempt to shut out members from having a choice in the upcoming election and annual meeting. There is something terribly wrong with this picture - desperate people do desperate things - and these Election Policies and Procedures have This Board's desperation to maintain control of Our Credit Union written all through them. SECU has always been better than this - and We, the members deserve better than what these Eleven have done over the past two years.

    1. We, the employees, feel the same way! The majority of us just want things back to the point of being FAIR and BENEFICIAL for our membership. We want nothing more than to be able to be people helping people again! This current board is a disgrace to our membership and what NCSECU stands for. We're in this fight together!

  4. These folks sure don't behave like they have the members best interest at heart. I guess a diverse set of ideas isn't what they "really" want. Replacing these 3 anti-democratic board members would be a good start, but only a start ...

    1. Ayers needs to resign. He and these Board of Directors turned their back on all SECU Members and Employees, SEANC and frankly the whole state of North Carolina. It was one thing to hire a disaster of a CEO from out state - what a failure. But they have continued hiring and bringing in others and more consultants who know nothing about what we North Carolinians need and want from our credit union. It's time we put the SECU focus back on North Carolina and time for this Board to step aside. Their New/New way is not what credit union members want in North Carolina.

    1. If they did, they would resign and let us the members nominate and elect a whole new slate of directors...

    2. tyrants never leave without a fight, but you can sense the desperation ... they're not in as much control as they thought, hence hiring the PR firm to make em sound righteous! The walls are starting to crumble .... stay strong!
