  3. Has the gym been done away with yet? Can we start selling birdhouses again? Those are examples of what made us different. People worked here because they liked helping people. It was never about a paycheck. Now the new folks get paid very well and get full benefits. 35+ years with a few more good years left in me and I sure hope we see some changes soon. Had a member come in last week and she said she waited over 30 minutes for MSS to report her lost card. That isn't acceptable.

    1. It's the new software, and less mss workers. Lots of them have quit b/c not getting hours they would work after the bidding.
      Also they stopped the overtime.

    2. "Has the gym been done away with yet?" Thanks,
I thought about that too. Give the kids and their teachers their space back!
All you ever hear is 'It's about the kids and society does otherwise'!
      SECU truly 'was' a diamond-in-the-rough!

    3. The birdhouse guy died. That’s why no more birdhouses.

    4. Frank Newell died but the birdhouses are still available. It's just Poor Leigh doing this.

  4. For all the employees who “get it” it has never been about the money. I hear all the time about how if we want to retain our top talent then we have to pay them what they are worth. I say that if they had the true servant's heart that they need to work here then what we pay them wouldn’t matter because doing the right thing and people helping people is way more valuable than chasing that dollar.

    1. The job of helping people was the reward. I loved the challenge of constantly working to obtain new skills so we could bring services to members who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunities to use them. We don’t need to chase wealth. Regular everyday hard working people are the backbone of our organization. That’s what I heard over and over at the meeting and it’s the heart of what we do. We strive to be of service to those who need us, to help financially better their lives, and to educate.

    2. That's correct. I put in decades here not for the money but for the feeling that I have done something valuable, given a good service at the end of the day. Now I am wondering why I wasted my time here when I could have easily gone elsewhere and gotten a good paycheck. Money is important but not the overwhelming #1 for everyone. Drifters like Hayes, Bomba. Jared, Seabrook, Chalk, and all the sidekicks who came in rushing with the for a better title with more money will NEVER understand. That's what makes us different.

Having said are we going start saying 'There's a difference' again now or stick with the drifter's 'What difference? I don't see any difference. So let's get away with it attitude....

    3. There's a whole world of people that don't "get it".
I've had these discussions with people who ask me why I think I should pay the same rate as someone with lesser credit. My answer is I could go anywhere I want, but where do these folks go?.
A socialist environment would not give me a choice, do as I command is their mantra.
I believe in the coop values. I am 'willing' to pay extra to give those who need some help.
      It's a small price to pay ...

    5. @8:22, that is correct. They all need to go. If Leigh truly wants to make a difference she would start making changes at the top.

    6. @8:22 don't forget the HR top gun who is out of state making decisions for a NC based CU.

  5. Ms. Brady must face the consequences she has created. . I understand why some may like her. She’s got some swagger to her. Meaning she has great confidence in the way she carry’s herself. Very smart woman. Great sense of style. Whom I use to believe was a good person.

But as they say…actions speak louder than words. Good example was the previous CEO. All bark, but no bite. All fluff. Brady is no different. She is a mere puppet. I don’t care if you are a woman or a man leading as the CEO. It’s definitely an accomplishment to become CEO as a woman considering the history for women struggling to gain rights in American history.. I tip my hat to her rising through the ranks here. Like others, outside looking in…on paper she sounds like the perfect CEO….but there is something she doesn’t have….and that’s what Mr.Blaine and Mr. Lord possessed and that is GUTS and integrity. She doesn’t have it. She knows RBL is terrible. She knows deep down these changes are terrible for employees and she knows the majority of the membership would hate(if told the truth) everything that has happened the past 2 years. Election results speak for themselves. The thunderous applause after the election results spoke volumes. Hundreds of former VPs and legacy employees coming out against the decisions the past 2 years says it all. Money corrupts all and unfortunately it has gotten Ms. Brady. I’m afraid she will continue to NOT do the right thing. She deserves the same treatment as Gym Haze. We expect better from you, Leigh. I want to like you so bad, but your actions and pettiness says it all after losing the election. Explain to members how RBL is beneficial…you still haven’t managed to convince anyone that it is… Our A paper members don’t need the loans….the ones with low income and poor credit need the best rate as possible to help them save money. That’s who is calling in and coming into the branch. …Americans that have a few bucks in their account…. We need to be that credit union that will continue to make local decisions while giving these people good rates so we can help them save as much as possible so it can free up funds to stay ahead on other bills. That’s what we are here for. RBL is nothing more than a money grab and if you agree with that Ms.Brady…you don’t deserve to be the CEO at the North Carolina State Employees’ Credit Union. Hop over to allegacy…they may align with your Philosophy more. We are people helping people and we do the right thing. Race based lending is NOT beneficial to the membership as a whole. If she continues to back the BOD….It’s time to turn the heat up, comrades! I’m hoping she will have the heart to turn it around because like I said before…I like the woman. If she had guts and integrity…she would be one of the best CEOs in the COUNTRY. I truly believe that, but if she continues to go down the path of greed and corruption…you are just another typical American CEO that screws over its employees and the people that you supposedly serve…it makes you no different than your male counterparts across the US who are CEOs that screw over its staff daily. Don’t be another typical pompous arrogant money hungry CEO. Be a trail blazer. I hate to keep bragging on Mr. Blaine because I feel like it’s beating a dead horse. But there is a reason magazines, publications, and other CEOs have referred to him as a “Trail Blazer” or a “gem” of a CEO. I tell you why…he is one of the handful of CEOs in this country that has truly cared about the people and can’t be controlled by other entities/people.. The man doesn’t even work here anymore and could have retired in the sunset. Look what he is doing now……same with Mike Lord…you can tell in the tone and body language they truly care. Actions speak louder than words…they both have proven time and time again why they were for the people of this great state. Ms. Brady…you have much to prove in such little time. I strongly suggest you have a change of heart…or your tenure as CEO will be very ugly just like your predecessor, Jim Hayes. #DoTheRightThing

  6. Leigh Brady=Hilary Clinton. Jim Hayes=Donald Trump. Well Trump is funnier I will say. But for Gods sake. I hope our next CEO doesn’t resemble Joe Biden 😂 we don’t need another puppet after we get rid of Leigh next year. Our next CEO needs to be for the people and nothing else. Not a shield for the board of directors and the NCUA. Don’t forget about the NCUA, folks. They are just as worse as the board of directors. The BOD does answer to someone👀 they deserve just as much heat as our BOD.

    1. "Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve;
not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock."

    1. Interesting timing on that email. Making a statement. I wonder if loan administration will have ANOTHER celebration after it starts?

    2. Yup. Plan is to roll it out sometime in November for personal loans!

  8. Isn't that the truth: There was no dialogue and no responses from the stage even when members posed a question.

    https://chipfilson.com/2023/10/members-win-at-secu-annual-board-election/

The remaining 8 need to be replaced with those who are ready to respond and have a dialogue with the "OWNERS" of this place. More work cutout for every single employee and member.
