Elissa McCarter Laborde, the president and CEO of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), touched on many themes in her opening remarks to the World Credit Union Conference. Most importantly, she said she wanted to emphasize one final point before closing. Ms. Laborde offered a reminder over how something that credit unions have earned over decades can disappear in a moment.
But can... "disappear in a moment."
At SECU... "We must hold ourselves to a higher standard."

THIS RIGHT HERE ... it DID happen to these folks!
This board has dumbed secu down immensely. brazen mismanagement, unaccountable to us as members.
ReplyDeleteindustry standard isn't a higher standard for us. At least it wasn't until last 3 years
DeleteTo quote a great credit union manager, "You want to manage to Peer Averages, WHY, You want to be average?!!"
DeleteWhen do we learn the results. Do we have to wait till the annual meeting?
ReplyDeleteI do worry about their massive campaign for votes.from what I read or saw from last year's meeting. The votes for the CANDIdates were between 5 and 7000 votes.if they manage to hood wink just 1% of the membership to actually invoke for their own incumbent,.
DeleteIt's like twenty four thousand votes.
regardless, we know how to make sure there will be contested election every year from now on.... got to do it at least one more year anyway to unelect the weasel.
Deletewhich one?
DeleteI don't know if I can make it another year working here if the incumbents win and their lackeys Benesh, Rammesh, Bomba, and Varron are still destroying everything and promoting their buddies.
DeleteThere is definitely more than one weasel
DeleteMake it October madness: "The Final Four"!
Delete@12:13 I'm with you. The board and leadership are saying the that expenses are high because of added employee benefits (parental/caregiver leave, more health plan options etc) are the same board/leadership that have set up a hurricane relief fund so fellow employees can donate to the employees in western NC. If they care so much about the employees and spending more for employee benefit why have they not made and executive decision to contribute SECU money to help SECU EMPLOYEES?! It is so hypocritical.
Delete@7:38 Because they just spent >$7.2M on postal expenses and who knows how much more by hiring professional videographers for their own self aggrandizing promotional videos. Disgusting.
DeleteAnyone receive confirmation email to attend annual meeting? Signed up 7 days ago and still no confirmation
ReplyDeleteA member can register at the Koury Center the day of the meeting and attend
