The "We Are SECU On The Road" Tour - Greensboro Meeting - Update

Some folks have asked for an update on the first meeting of the "We Are SECU On The Road" tour featuring SECU Chairman Chris - aka "Mr. NFPP"** - Ayers and the SECU "New/Future" CEO - accompanied by a retinue of C-sweet courtiers. The meeting was held July 12, 2023 at the Proximity Hotel in Greensboro [see 7/11 post for future dates]. ** ["no formal proposal proposal"]

The announced purpose of the meeting was a re-re-re-review of the "SECU Strategic Plan"! Bet excitement was running at a fever pitch among the audience over that opportunity. Found no indication in the announcement, however, as to whether the "We R SECU'ers" would explain SECU's 2022/23 mis-performance against that "Plan".

Regret to report that I was unable to attend. Looked around for my invitation, but it must have gotten lost in the mail. I did, however, receive an email picture purporting to show the "We Are SECU On The Road" tour group arriving at the hotel...

... I can not independently validate the authenticity of the email address.

  2. I'm guessing if their lips were moving the truth was no where to be found... or has this leopard changed it's spots?

  3. The mission of State Employees' Credit Union is:
"To be the trusted provider of financial services to every eligible member and to enhance the value of their lives and financial well-being while maintaining our fiscal strength."

The State Employees' Credit Union motto is "People Helping People" and we operate under the working principle of "Do the Right Thing."

sounds good ... now it's just called Lip Service!!!

and we know what we get when their lips are moving ...

  4. The motto “People helping people and do the right thing” is long gone.
These people don’t represent “our “ SECU, only the “new” SECU. More waste of money.

  5. It's pretty safe to say these folks don't really care about their members financial well-being (else why RBL for one example). I think you really need to come to grips with this fact.. Otherwise you are now lying to yourself.

  6. First of the dog and pony shows that are another complete waste of our money. Nothing is going to change until we get rid of our "new" CEO and get real new members on the Board. No one in their current positons will fight for our members or our money!

    1. Oh they are fighting for our money alright. they can't wait til after the Board election (which this board think they have locked up tight with the new election procedures hampering members ability to participate). If this board wins, full speed ahead with the H410 bill. and then on with merging and expansion outside of NC( byby $$, moving our NC money out of state, already doing it, but it will escalate). Some way, their is a buy out and payout to this board and top execs If they win this board election. We have to regain control of our money and keep it away from these greedy, board members who are hurting members all across the state. According to their own figures, 51% of the membership is now paying MORE for their loans than they did before RBL. Everyone used to get A paper rate, now 51% of the members are hurt financially. They are admitting this, but they phrase it "49% of our members are getting A paper rates." do you feel as helpless and furious as I do? This board is so slick and deceitful and so is Leigh Brady. Totally Removed from the lives of the people this board and Brady are supposed to serve. Why don't they open up one of these tricked out dog and pony shows to the membership?

  8. When leadership ceases to be transparent we have a problem. There is no sugar coating the problem we have facing this organization. When an organization's Shepards go rogue and the committee who oversees them looks the other way (Insider Job) serious consequences will happen. Our economy is fragile and folks are just a blink-of-an-eye away from falling between the cracks. Are the SECU leaders (CEO/BOD) preparing the way to help these folks or to help themselves? I'll leave you to think and decide for yourselves based on what they do/done not what they say (or smile for the cameras).
