  4. SECU Chooses NCR For Mega $$$ Contract
    https://www.ncsecu.org/PDF/Press/20230509_SecuNcrNewsRelease.pdf

Very interesting to see this selection. Should be no surprise that since the current CTO and several of his staff and the COO all boarded NCR's private jet for a trip to Atlanta last year....surely that did not
influence the selection of this company for SECU tech. Taking private jets and breaking policy for the number of leadership members together on one
    plane?

    1. You think that's all. I'm sure they were given stock compensation.

    2. The Board hired Hayes to implement their elitist, self-aggrandizing culture. The New SECU! Unimaginable at an institution that treats its members fairly and with dignity and respect.

    4. And at state universities and community colleges, but we have several of those people sitting on our Board letting this go down

  6. Members need to kick these crooks off the Board

  7. We're still getting less than economy fare rates at the back of the plane on money market accounts and being overcharged on loans. Board needs to GO!

  8. Looks like the Board sold out the Cashpoints atms to NCR. This is a scam . We need outside independent auditors on this transaction. Full disclosure and then start prosecuting the Board individually for negligence and lack of fiduciary duty.. They are accountable, this deal will cost members millions.

  9. NCR isn't anybody's idea of a digital leader. What a joke. Second rate tech, chosen by third rate jet setters at our expense.

  10. Not back of plane cheap money market rates. We're not even flying, we're under the bus with everybody else Gym Haze and crew touches. Willing to help pack their bags and help pay for one-way ticket

  11. From NCR investor call: "In the first quarter we signed six ATM-as-a-Service deals including, First Citizens Bank with over $100 billion in total assets and over 500 ATMs and full end-to-end management ATM solution."

Imagine that! SECU CTO came from FC and never had the chops to manage their system. Best he can do now is a "me too" for SECU. This is not going to end well.

    1. A SECU CTO that previously could not get a promotion at FCB, gets angry and leaves, and sweet talks his way into an executive position at SECU, without really being qualified. I am sure there were internal people at SECU that were far more qualified. And now this disgruntle individual, now CTO, plucks as many employees from FCB as possible, promising promotions and big salaries, all while pushing SECU employees to the side I'm sure. SECU seems to be hiring a lot of executive management these days, while contracting and outsourcing work. Nice way to support North Carolina. This does not strike me as someone with a great code of conduct and ethics, or someone that understands SECU's values.

  12. This sure feels like an opportunistic money grab by the new people in charge. If not, what has improved so far? Assets? Member satisfaction?

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's about growth. Growth is the only thing in Jimmy & BOD mind. Member satisfaction is peasant satisfaction to them. You matter not. Now, them corporations and businesses that they want, their satisfaction will matter to them.

  13. Well, member money is the executive bunch and BODs personal piggy bank. I remember a time we were supposed to a steward of member funds. To do the right thing.

  14. NCR - "Digital Banking Power House":

Year-over-year "NCR Digital Banking" revenue growth "flat" (none!) , earnings "off" (- 13%!) Good match with new partner SECU.

  17. Thought Board member Mclawhorn was a state auditor, if so not much of one. First to go, after the lobbyist/lawyers

    ReplyDelete
  18. How did 3 or 4 lobbyist get on the Board? What the "h" did you expect? For them to look after our interests, not theirs? Sanford, Ayers, Wooten, Garland the worst. Good grief!

  19. Love that the contract price is confidential.......we will spend member money but will not tell you how much we spent. Sounds about right. Send them e-mails to your state senator folks. Remember, in order for the the three board members that are up for election to be out they have to have someone running against them.

  22. Want to feel worse? Ask one of us at a branch how it feels to be an employee. I didn't sign on at SECU to work for a Wells Fargo-type CEO and Board. That's where we are now.

    1. You really think Chris Ayers current chairman of SECU board of directors, who is on the NC Utilities commission and simped for Duke Energy (Monopoly) "in the past" cares about you and other members?

    3. Sorry, we're too busy hiring useless banking executives and purchashing laptops/laptop accessories that aren't needed to pay you peons competitive rates. We'll charge you a higher rate on your loans though.

1‰ rate on Money Market accounts right now is truly shameful. Unbelievable, but this is the new SECU.

      Delete
    4. Have you not noticed the amount of money that has been pulled from SECU because rates are so much better elsewhere???? We see it as tellers everyday. FAS wants us to "push" their services to "help the membership" - I think NOT. I'm not selling "goods" to our membership knowing d@mn well & good that their best interest isn't the focus of SECU anymore. Some may say I'm shooting myself in the foot by "not being a team player". I say I don't blame the membership from jumping a sinking ship. I'm hoping that there are members who will step up and help us fight to end the "Haze Daze" we're facing.

  24. Resting on the laurels, accolades and money built by the old management that they so badly despise. They need to make some profit of their own and spend / loose from that profit before all these big talks. Even then, they have no right since the billions of dollars that they are using as a base is not of their own effort - belongs to the members and built by the old management. The principal amount is not their inheritance.

      JIM HAYES

CEO | State Employees’ Credit Union
      Raleigh

The California native succeeded Mike Lord
in 2021 at the second-largest U.S. credit union, with $50 billion in assets. He previously led a Maryland credit union. He vowed to improve digital services, while ending a policy of charging the same interest rate to all members, regardless of credit scores.
