"Antiquated Laws: State laws governing state-chartered credit unions haven’t been updated since 1975, before computers and the internet. Outdated laws create administrative hurdles for credit unions, and some of them are costly. A modernization of North Carolina’s laws would allow credit unions to serve their members more efficiently."
Mr. Schline claims that for North Carolina credit unions, the biggest threat to the future, is the past. He conveniently overlooks the unquestioned - and generally unmatched - success of North Carolina credit unions over recent decades. A thoughtful, balanced and effective statutory framework has enabled North Carolina credit unions to grow, prosper and evolve with the times.
The Carolinas' Credit Union League evidently doesn't "put much faith" in "antiquated" laws which have stood the test of time.
What will they want to change next...
... hasn't been updated since "before computers and the internet", has it ??!!
