... lots of desert-like sand!
A small rural N.C. town. Isolated: To the north - dead end, dirt path roads, wild ponies; to the east - Bank of Bermuda, sharks; to the south - a many mile trek down Hwy 12, awash with unpredictability and 51st state, French speaking aliens (tourists!); and west - bog muck, grass marshes and gators!
With barely 1 bank, is Duck one of those H.187 - CU Update sorely "under-served, financial deserts" in North Carolina?
Worth another look by some credit union board?
While they are taking a look, maybe revisit having another exec meeting there and boast about it on SNS too. High time. Why not?
ReplyDeleteCome on now. This one (Duck) seems a little cherry-picked. Let's take a look at much of the remainder of Northeast NC. In many of those communities, the numbers are quite different, and the people living there are underserved in many, many ways.
ReplyDelete6:46pm Very fair observation. . But that's exactly the point; all of H.187 - but especially the 'financial deserts" - is a low-brow, cynical "cherry-pick'!
DeleteConceit masquerading as concern..
I heard there were 'pirates' there looking to pillage and loot ... or was that Raleigh?
