😎 Well, it's now officious!
✅ SECU members no longer have any right to speak or participate in the Annual "Membership" Meeting of their credit union!
The good news is the CLO did deign to provide a response![see here the request]
✅ Will follow up to see how to do the "what's next" tomorrow!

The CLO bans resolutions? What, you think she makes this up and acts independent from the Board? The Board "banned" it. Don't make it personal.
ReplyDelete@10:06p - If the Board "banned" it as you say, then SECU's Cheif Legal Officer should have "counseled" them that it might not be a good idea. This ELT and Board seem to know how to pat themselves on the back when things go right, but are quick to point the finger when it dosent. Real leaders hold themselves accountable and take responsibility regardless of the situation. Its a shame SECU lost most of their real leaders 3-4 years ago.
DeleteThis a good idea, so why would she counsel them otherwise? Trying to keep it fair and open to all members, and prevent one member from hijacking the meeting like what happened in 2022. Annual meeting is about updates, with formality of auditor report, and director elections. The meeting is only so long and only so much time for comments and resolutions. No limit or constraint at all about the number of special meetings that can be held for resolutions. Not having resolutions at an annual meeting is very common among credit unions.
DeleteSounds like we have a member resolution process. Am I missing something? If we have a process what’s the issue?
ReplyDeleteQuite the paradox - the new rules are meant to stop you. You caused the change you lament. How does that make you feel? Laughs in the board room are frequent, especially at your expense.
ReplyDeleteIf you are a member of the board posting about the CU, shouldn't you state your name and your relationship with the CU?

ReplyDeleteThere is a member resolution process available to you and any other member
