Q: "What's this stuff we keep hearing about these credit union "mega-me mergers" ? "
A: "Well, Senator, credit unions are a lot different now, than when you and I were growing up and still trying to do right."

Q: "It's those bankers after you again, isn't it!"
A: "Not really Senator. Here's the problem... "
We may have become... "wicked in our pride"!
Waste of time and money going to GAC. SECU needs to focus on its members, not on legislation and networking. Get back to the members, the branch, the MSS and out of DC.
ReplyDeleteWhile I am not a fan of the gac hoopla, we should be knocking on legislators‘ doors now more than ever. The past year has shown us that we must stay together and active to protect SECU.
ReplyDeleteGoing to conferences and networking with colleagues is essential to career development. There’s no harm in learning new perspectives, brining back fresh ideas, or challenging your own opinions.
ReplyDeleteThere are members to be helped. Our focus needs to be on NC and our membership.
Delete@11:51PM Having talented well rounded employees is a benefit to members wouldn’t you agree?
DeleteFine, then do your networking in NC
DeleteWhen it comes to career development—get
DeleteOut of your office and go spend the day helping out on the drive thru or loading the ATM. Plenty of opportunities in branch
@1:53PM Please elaborate on how this furthers my career and how I can network with other professionals to bring fresh ideas and new perspectives to my role at SECU?
DeleteJust follow the career path and pass the modules like the rest of us. What you get out of it depends on what you put in to it.
Delete@7:20PM this is exactly why SECU cannot adapt to change.
Delete@9:43 once again, what the “new” new wants you to think. Drinking the kool-aid
DeleteIt's politics. Everybody playing their part. It costs money, goes nowhere and gets members nothing.
ReplyDelete@9:07PM What a sad reality you live in. Remind me to never work for your company. It might cost 10k to send a group of employees to GAC. Might. Let’s say that’s an accurate number. How much does each member get?
DeleteStealing $10k from the membership is no joke
Delete@9;07PM Views from members like these is why I left yeeeaaarrs ago. Good riddance. Employees are expendable to them. These members like to say “There’s a difference” but they don’t walk the walk.
Delete@9:07PM Members benefit from employees staying abreast of regulations and possible legislative changes. In addition to career development, it helps the CU be proactive rather than reactive (the expensive kind) when changes come down the pipe.
