SECU Board Stumbling Forward With Others Toward Taxation?

ðŸ˜Ž Yesterday a commenter mentioned: "We didn't run a super bowl ad, haven't changed the logo or sponsored a stadium. Several folks asked what "sponsored a stadium" meant? Here's an example:

"Live Nation Signs Venue Naming Rights Deal with North Island Credit Union"

"Live Nation Friday announced a multi-year agreement with North Island Credit Union for the naming rights of the Chula Vista venue formerly known as the Mattress Firm Amphitheater [can't make this stuff up!]."

“As we were exploring new avenues to support our community, bring more benefits to our members, and extend our brand awareness, the incredible opportunity to partner with Live Nation at this local venue proved to be a natural fit for both of our brands,” said Steve O’Connell, president and CEO

“Together, through the power of live music, we will integrate their brand in authentic ways throughout the venue so they can establish even more meaningful connections with members who have an affinity for live music.”

"North Island Credit Union will also be on-site during the concert season from April to October to maintain engagement with concertgoers."

"Incredible Opportunity" to "extend our brand awareness" and "maintain engagement"! - Got that?  Sounds like a strategic plan!

  1. Don’t have to look very far to find the Coastal CU Music Park at Walnut Creek

  2. Oh my word! The more credit unions try to keep up with the big dogs, the more money will be spent on non-essentials. Serving members in our NC communities is our mission. We got to be the 2nd largest CU in the nation without advertising. Wouldn't the money be better spent to improve loan and savings rates?
