re: 2025 SECU Board Election Policies and Procedures
Dear Ms. Warren,
Thank you for your letter [see below] concerning the above complaint received tonight July 1, 2025 at 7:17 pm - you're working late!
Your letter is clear on your adverse decision. No disagreement with your statement, although NC credit union law § 54-109.12. [link] states exactly the opposite.
I must ask for a brief clarification on the statement in your last paragraph which reads:
"Our agency does not interfere with a board of directors’ business decisions that are not in violation of laws and/or rules under our authority."
Would ask that you reconfirm that requiring a credit union to comply with its bylaws does fall within the "laws and/or rules under our authority."
Would ask that you reconfirm that requiring a credit union to comply with its bylaws does fall within the "laws and/or rules under our authority."
If
you will please confirm your authority over violations of credit union
bylaws, would be happy to accept your decision and consider this matter
closed.
But, don't stay up all night; a response later tomorrow would be great! Again, thank you for your time, patience, and courtesy.
Sincerely,
Jim Blaine, SECU Member

The judgment here, exactly as expected, is that neither bylaws nor any election procedure notification requirements were violated. Her statement simply says when that doesn’t occur, they don’t get involved. She didn’t say they don’t have jurisdiction over bylaws.
ReplyDeleteEither way, surely you realize your acceptance of their decision is not required. They could give a rip whether you accept it or not. Wouldn’t hold my breath on a another response, either. It’d be disappointing to see them waste more time on you. Case closed.
Told ya exactly how this was going to play out. Either you were too stupid to come to the same conclusion given the plain language in the procedures, or you knew all along there was no formal change in procedures, but threw up your smokescreen just to try to make the board look bad. You come off looking ridiculous either way. And yes, it can get worse if you keep belaboring this.
I say take your ball and go home. You got beat. Badly.
Comments like these, mean-spirited and personal, go far in demonstrating that something else is happening here. Try as you may, you will never be able to discredit the people who built the credit union into one of the most successful in the country. And unless you honestly consider your actions, you will never change the fact that it is turning into something different. Many of the members, myself included, are leaving because the service and quality is now sub par.
DeleteThe board and ELT continue to lie and mislead, while trolls are paid to attack the members who disagree with the new leadership. In my opinion, this is pathetic behavior designed to prop up incompetent leadership. Time will eventually reveal the truth. I’ll be very pleased if I’m wrong. If I’m right, though, I can only imagine how much it will have cost us all.
Why don't you take up pickle ball?

ReplyDeleteShocking that you continue to waste people’s time with zero results or logic.
They have an agenda, the members aren't included, just to finance it ...
ReplyDeleteWhat’s the agenda? Can you post it here and explain it to me?
DeleteExactly! You figured it out. Maximize profit off the members banks and then go acquire Vystar and Suncoast, plus a couple of banks. We’re good to start lending on office buildings in Manhattan, too. It’s gonna be great!
DeleteIf I'm guessing, the ultimate plan is to act like a bank until they trigger taxation. Then use that taxation as a reason to just go ahead and be a bank. They'll push convert to a mutual and take their payouts. The members lose. The leadership wins and walks away.
