"Parting is such sweet sorrow!" (Romeo & Juliet)

SECU Chairman Chris Ayers said:

“We are grateful for Jim’s strong leadership and the vision he cast for SECU,” Ayers said. “Jim brought ideas from outside our institution that will continue to help SECU meet our members where they are and improve their experience. His contributions helped strengthen our staff, modernize technology, enhance member products and services, and position SECU for the future."

Nothing could be further from the truth, but Mr A doesn't have a clue what goes on in the company he's the Chairmen of the board on .... he has a 50K foot view of the organization and not a down in the weeds look at what's really transpiring (and won't listen). To have managers who were just hired come in a talk the way they did and do to "legacy" employees who helped build this company is totally unacceptable. But JH and the BOD apparently don't think so (they condone it) else it would have stopped. By the way I hate that term "Legacy employees", we are all in this together, for the members who "used" to trust us. Without members you don't exist, but they became fodder in their eyes as we can just recruit more members and take advantage of them also. So what is the new culture "they" created, Divide and conquer? Sounds like what tyrants do in a hostile takeover ...

    2. Divide and Conquer Leadership is always reserved for the weakest of leaders. Proven yet again by This SECU Board, former CEO Hayes and his Executive Team. Give us our SECU Leaders back and you will see us get our groove back.

  3. Mr. Ayers and Ms. Garland and any others, Please resign this week if you actually believe these statements you made above are true. Jim Hayes did not bring ideas to our credit union, he brought trouble. He also brought in millions of dollars of dead weight in the salaries and benefits for the Hayes entourage - This Board promised would not happen under his leadership. You and This Board are responsible for the damage he has done to our cooperative. Too much time and money has been wasted, too many hard earned SECU careers have suffered or been lost. You will never get a pass on how you allowed our legacy employees to be treated by the Hayes regime. SECU's reputation in the credit union industry and our state has been damaged. We as an organization have lost too much due to your unwillingness to listen to the members, the staff and our past proven leaders. This Board's lack of judgement over the past two years just like your CEO, has shown your unfitness to lead State Employees Credit Union now or in the future. Step aside and allow those who know us best to get our credit union back to serving us.

  4. How many has Hayes brought in since his tenure @ SECU?

I truly feel sorry for us. Decades and Years of organic growth and community values all to be takes away by Hayes. And after 18 months nothing to show for it and is now gone.

    1. Oh but wait….according to the article right after he was hired, he wasn’t bringing in his own executive entourage…but yet he’s done just that. There is anything but strength in the staff. It’s the if you ain’t board, get out mentality that is sickening.
