1500+ years of experience !!! ... I suspect they have a good idea about what SECU members need, don't you? 4 more in '24!!!
that's just the tip of the iceberg ....
ReplyDeleteYou have my vote!!!!
ReplyDeleteSeems to be exec leadership from every area of North Carolina. That tells me what I needed to know and who to believe.
ReplyDeleteI agree I think a lot of employees are scared to speak out in fear of retaliation. I do miss feeling like I was helping members which was a large part of why I have stuck with the credit union. I feel like saying we are still helping members more then others but not as much as we use to sucks.
DeleteExactly! The incumbents are endorsing themselves!
ReplyDeleteOk, so you want me to base my decision to vote on the recommendation of the 11 self-perpetuating amateurs on the board or those 50 experienced cu professionals? That is a hard decision.
ReplyDeleteEasy put the professionals back in charge 4 more in 24
Deletethink the saying is "professionals always make the difficult look easy, amateurs always think it it is". SECU amateur hour since CEO Gym in 21
DeleteHiring Big Gym is the only reason I need to vote 4 more in 24. What were the incumbents thinking, or not! $6 million for that "live stream" OMG!
DeleteDo you want a bank or a credit union? Seems like there are lots of well run banks in North Carolina! Why would we want a mediocre one?
ReplyDeleteAnybody read Leigh-duh Brady's email?
ReplyDeleteIn the interest of transparency and accuracy, she's writing to provide some "accurate" information to us directly. ?!
These are just my initial thoughts, not even going into any details of what she has said.
SECU has favorable and competitive savings rates and has the gall to even give the link to the rates page where the rate is a pathetic 0.05%, 0.25% and 2%. And the example she quotes is the eyewash dog and pony show 9 month CD with 5.1% for the election. Not everyone gets paid in 6 figures to have their money tied up in CDs. Most of the State Employees are getting by.
Competitive lending rates? Is that why "ALL" members are not getting the competitive rates? Where's the spirit of the credit union?
Responsibly managing operating costs? Is that why we are losing millions consistently? And borrowed from the Fed as if we ran into hardship and now paying the humongous interest?
Employees are invested in the organization? Is that why most of the long term employees were sidelined and made to silent quit? Mid 2000s? What year are we on now? Just 2024. Listening to employees? Where's the result to prove that she has been listening? All the new management has been doing is tinkering with the employee benefits and making it worse.
Exceptional service continues to outperform that members are recommending SECU's services. Not sure who she's is trying to fool. Herself first to even say this. No one else is that foolish.
Lastly SECU's executive team is made up primarily of employees who have worked at SECU for their entire careers. Is she kidding? Bombastica, bully JD, bully JV, hazy's buddy Seabrook, bombastica's lackey Chalk and so on and so on - how many years of their entire career have they sacrificed for the credit union? And here we are, waiting for a positive result from the compensation study and a promotion.
And the icing on the cake to spin Michael Clements's words...
Good one Brady. Whoever wrote this for you is extremely good. Awesome writer. The lies you spin.
And isn't the choice of selecting the board members an individual personal decision? Being passive aggressive and influencing how we should think, decide and vote?
Wow! Oh wow!
Well said rounding up all major points.
DeleteHope / Bet the ghost writer got paid good money. Not easy to spin the disaster into an achievement so eloquently. Kudos to the writer.
DeleteTalking about executive management and disaster, you forgot to add the all important call center/Nice catastrophe Benesh.
DeleteYeah, what’s the deal with the NICE system? I looked it up and it costs between $71 and $249 per employee per month. SECU is spending millions per year on a system members hate. Members don’t want to speak to robots and hear about analytics. They just want to pick up the phone and speak to a SECU employee. Us frontline employees can’t even get a bonus because of “return on assets” ratios, yet we’re good to give millions to an out of state company. Please vote for self-nominated candidates.
DeleteI have had the honor of serving at SECU with most of those on this list and know of more of them. This is a heavy hitting endorsement and I urge people to pay attention. These former employees have stellar reputations.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. This is list of GOOD, HONEST, MEMBER-FOCUSED people who lived and breathed SECU throughout their careers.
DeleteCan this list be prominently featured on the SECUforall website, and updated as it grows?
ReplyDeleteLook under "About Us" on secuforall.com

ReplyDeleteThe current board has been a continuing embarrassment. No spin - bad hiring, out of control costs and disastrous lending policies, bad rates, disrespect for members and us
